Correspondence, advertisements, articles, clippings, and legal, promotional and supplementary materials concerning Daniel Davenport, a fake doctor who claimed to have explored in Africa and lectured with a film actually made in New York using Harlem blacks, 1931-1939; Adelle Davis, a food faddist, nutritionist, and dietician, who also advocated heavy doses of vitamins, 1946-1974; Charles Gilbert Davis, an erratic doctor, who lectured on the virtues of radium, and on the alleged influence of fears and feelings of guilt in causing disease, 1909-1923; and Glen C. Davis, a fake doctor and graduate of a diploma mill (Kansas City University of Physicians and Surgeons), 1920-1939.
